Happy Valentine's Day! We celebrated with a fancy dinner, lots of love, laughter and time together. I can't think of a better way to spend the day! (And I only sacrificed one goblet in the making of a special dinner! :-) ) And we have learned - these three can put away the shrimp and cocktail sauce!
And the very next day, we headed out on an adventure. Andy's birthday trip was early this year - so the kids could enjoy the snow! This picture isn't very good - but it's there for the pure sentiment. I remember looking out that exact window with my brothers, standing on the back of the couch. We headed to Mt. Hood, and spent 5 wonderful days doing nothing at my grandparent's cabin.

Well, almost nothing! :-) Quite a bit of time was spent sledding. This was the infamous train! They had other sledders laughing because of the spectacular crashes, and the wonderful laughter that emerged from this choo choo!
The King of the Snow. He had to be forced inside every time - even when he was sopping wet and freezing! We kept hearing 'Just one more time, pleeeeeeease!"
They couldn't even wait to put their coats on when we got there - they unpacked, and then headed straight for the sleds!

And over they go! But, if the grins are anything to go by - a good time was still being had!
And sledding isn't just for little kids - big kids enjoy it, too! Daddy hardly had to even be asked to go outside! Just the thought was enough to have him up and putting on his gear!
An ahhhhh moment! The boys slept in one of the big beds, and when I checked on them one night before my bed time - I had to run for my camera!
It was a spectacular Valentine's/Birthday trip - and one we can't wait to do again. I hope your's was just as relaxing and mushy!

You captured such great moments. The looks on their faces..priceless. Candid shots that just capture childlike joy. Great memories in that little cabin and glad a new generation is enjoying making more. Did you hear the snow slide and fall off the roof? Always liked that.
Looks like you all had a blast! What's even better is they are oldenough to remember. Family time away for "everything else" is even more precious.
And congrats on the new little one!
