I go to the sea to breathe. That could be my life motto. Whenever I need to relax, unwind, destress, or otherwise deal with life, I would head to the beach. A and I went all the time when we were dating - gas was much cheaper. And even after we were married, we would head out for a day trip all the time. A asked me to marry him at Haystack Rock, and we honeymooned in Victoria - all on the ocean! For the last two years, however, I haven't been near the beach. During the pregnancy, I wasn't allowed to go anywhere, and then we had to keep the babies quarantined for six months, and then the thought of taking three infants to the beach. Well....

we finally worked up the courage, and headed to Newport for six days and nights in our camping trailer. I didn't realize how much I had missed the beach until the first time I spotted it. Then I started crying. It was SO GOOD to be back! We had a perfect vacation - we didn't want to come home. The babies loved the beach - they are SO my kiddies - and we feel like we relaxed and unwound. So, prepare for a few pictures.

W loved the sand - to eat. He gathered huge handfuls and stuffed them in his mouth! Not sure what he is missing in his diet, but hopefully that cured the problem! As I walked him down the beach, he was giggling the whole way, he was so excited!

B didn't eat the sand - but he loved crawling on it, digging in it, and exploring to his heart's content. He spent some time with Papa doing some walking, and seemed to enjoy digging his little toys and fingers as deep as he could get them.

R and Daddy spent some quality time on the beach. They played together, strolled down the beach, and dug their toes in the sand together. Great fun for both.

Now W wants to tell you a story about camp life!

The trailer was great fun for the kiddies to explore. They loved playing on the bed with us, and waking us up in the morning was great fun - for them and us. However, as much fun as the trailer was...

It was very neat for the babies to camp with not only all four grandparents, but also four great-grandparents. Here, Grandma is rocking R to sleep. I can't figure out who enjoyed it more.

B wrapped Great-Gram and Gram around his little finger. He giggled, whined, and was given pretty much everything that he wanted. Great-Gram enjoyed the time with the babies, and even gave them some special blocks that her mom played with when she was a baby - it will be a very special toy for them when they grow up.

And of course, Auntie S was always a hit - there to do their every bidding, feed them whenever she could, and basically spoil them rotten. If they don't recover from it quickly, she might have to move in with us!

Cousins were a big hit, too. T enjoyed reading books to the babies - and they liked it too. W is enjoying it in the above pic.

Bath time was a huge hit in Great-Grandma's tub. We fit four cousins, washed them all, gave them great hair-dos, and let them play together. As much as I enjoyed my cousins growing up, we are hoping that our kiddies and their cousins will be good friends, too.

There were some cool new toys on the camping trip, too. Camping chairs, dirt, grass, sticks, and anything else that the kiddies could find were made into new toys to explore and learn and grow with.

B especially loved exploring the grass. We had a huge mat spread out in a meadow behind our trailer - but B stayed on the mat as little as possible. There were things like sand, grass and a fire pit to explore!

Finally, R is thrilled - that was fun, can we do it again?!
