Mental Health Weekend

So, I had had it - 2 weddings, 3 ear infections by the babies, A has been sick, work has been crazy, since one of the other girls had a heart attack, and I have been picking up some of her work, my list of to-do's is much, much longer then the accomplished list, and I couldn't take it any more. So, this Friday, I took a mental health day. Yes, I had a very long list of things that needed to get done, or at least started this weekend. This afghan was one of them. My plan was to finish it Friday. I am attempting to make an afghan for each of the girls in my family for Christmas presents. This square was from one of my CAL from Ravelry, and it just screamed A's grandma's name. The plain blue yarn is also some that was given to Mom and I when a lady in our church passed on that was close to his grandma. Well, Friday afternoon, I laid the babies down for their afternoon nap. I was so tired, I thought I would take a 30 minute snooze, and then get busy. Instead, I woke up 2 and a half hours later when A got home from work! Guess I helped my mental health, though, since I felt much better! But, that meant that the afghan didn't get finished until today, and the blog didn't get updated until today, either. Three posts in one day - I was way behind! But, I think I am caught up - for now. Below is a close up of the squares.

Wedding #2

The second family wedding in 3 weeks! A's sister got married at McMenamin's Grand Lodge Memorial Day weekend. She was very happy. It was an interesting day - 3 babies, one outdoor wedding with no seating, no nursery, and a fancy sit down reception dinner. By the end of it, I wanted to cry from exhaustion. We had the babies in a 3x3 foot area, on a blanket on the floor, and we managed to keep them entertained for about 3 hours. Just call me SuperMom!!!! I am glad that it is over with. However, the wedding was nice - what I saw of it - and she and her husband seem happy. I wish them all the best. And for all those askers - no, her quilt did NOT get done! But, her shower is in July, so I have until the 19th - and NO, I haven't started it yet. Wish me luck!

Bath time

I thought since my last post was about their bath, I should include extra details. They love taking a bath together. A will quietly get up, leave the room, and then start their bath water. The second - and I do mean THE SECOND - that they hear that water, all three head down the hall to supervise! Here they are, supervising! Ready and waiting for bath time. Our favorite three B's - Baths, Bottles and Bed!

Rub a Dub Dub

Three babies in the tub! Daddy and I decided last night that they were sitting up well enough, and we were feeling adventurous enough, that we plopped all three babies in one tub of water! I washed, Daddy snapped pictures, and I think the babies had a good time - although I was wetter then normal, and it took longer then normal. Too much playing going on!W took some time to warm up. He was originally in the middle, and both his brother and sister were splashing. He kept shooting them dirty looks, and wiping his face. We moved him to an end, and he did much better. However, he believes that rubber duckies are good chew toys, rather then floaties! B had a BLAST!!! He started splashing the second we put him in, and didn't stop until we took him out. He also decided that he was responsible for washing his own face, and kept dipping his head in the water! Strange child.
R took a second, and then decided that this was lots of fun - splashing her brothers, Daddy with a camera and a bath. What could be better? The one thing that we did decide at the end was that two babies were not crying while one was in the bathtub. Guess they are going to get combined baths from now on. A did whine a bit, because he said that he thought we were going to have room in the shower again, once we got rid of the baby tub. BUT, I promptly filled that with a basket of baby toys!

Happy Mother's Day

I didn't become a mother in the "normal" way, since A and I had to go through IVF for our miracles, but we both think the Lord blessed us over and more abundantly then we had ever hoped or prayed for. I spent my first Mother's Day at home, playing with babies. A made dinner, did dishes, and got me a card that made me cry from him and the babies (they have pretty good penmanship for 10 month olds!) They also turned 10 months old that day. Aren't they cute? I am blessed to be a mother!

Wedding Season

It's wedding season for this family! A's brother and sister are getting married within two weeks of each other! Yep, keeps things kind of crazy around our house. So, here is the whole family at Z's wedding. I don't often get my husband in a tux, so I thought I would get pics while I could - he changed as quickly after the wedding as he thought he could get away with! And, since the kids were dressed up, too, it was a good time for yet another family picture. W hadn't taken a morning nap, so he was a bit apprehensive. Not B - he'll smile for the camera anytime!
And here is Daddy and daughter. R is wearing a lace dress that I crocheted - in a week, thank you very much! and Daddy is in a tux, so we took pictures of the two that were so dressed up together. And Daddy is already dreading R's wedding in about 30 years (in his opinion) so it was appropriate to get the two together at her very first wedding - especially with Daddy in a tux! She's holding his hands pretty tight, too!
